Research
We conducted interviews with professionals from 7 industries: AEC, Business, Education, Finance, Data, Law, Research to understand how professionals currently document organization and management, market expansion utility, OCR platform usage and preferences.
Lexmata is an optical character recognition (OCR) platform that helps companies manage and review mass amounts of document data through converting text images into machine-readable text format. By combining AI and ML, Lexmata automates the process, cutting cost and time.

My team and I were tasked with creating an investor pitch deck, rebranding their website, and streamlining the workflow of the product for user retention and clarity, emphasizing user education and support

In order to create an inviting and digestible website, our team focused on reducing unnecessary content and honing in on key information that new users will first encounter. Focusing on the website elements in yellow, we created a seamless introduction to Lexmata’s mission, its application, trusted testimonials, and a final Call to Action to sign up for a demo
Workflow
Based on the information hierarchy above, our team decided to create a 3 step process of visualizing the workflow. In order to breakdown the complex process of document management and answer to user needs of clarity, we chose Decode, Organize, and Visualize as a quick and memorable introduction to Lexmata.
After brainstorming ideas, iterating different designs, and deliberating with our clients, we created a new and improved UI for Lexmata’s product and the website.

What I Learned
The Lexmata project was a transformative experience that honed my skills in design and project management while delivering impactful results. Leading the UX/UI design and visual system development, I focused on simplifying workflows and creating intuitive features like automated document tagging and real-time updates, ensuring the platform met both user needs and business goals.
Conducting user research across seven industries, I uncovered key insights about user pain points, such as concerns over data security and the perceived complexity of OCR tools. These findings guided the redesign of Lexmata’s workflows and landing page, emphasizing trust, clarity, and user education while showcasing its value across industries.
